Written by Conor Harrison, Lone Star Outdoor News

Cousins Darrell Green and James Reed have a history of hunting together for several years.

When Reed bought property near Blue between Lexington and Elgin, the pair began to chase dollars on the property. One particular reform goat, took the eyes of two hunters, although the wooden restrictions deer did hold off on the reform bullet.

Cousins first harvest shares of Big Buck"We were looking for an old ball reform," Green said. "He had a horn that went right and another that went right next to his face. He had four points in total, but the gamekeeper said that we could not shoot him. I do not know how you measure the spread of a deer like that. It was to be 18 inches tip to tip, but he did not really have a diffusion ".

Green said because the money reform was off limits, the pair were just hoping for a legal dollar appears. Reed had never killed a deer before so green was hoping to find a nice male.

"James pulled an antique, open glimpse of 0.30 to 06," Green said. "He could hit a can of beer at 75 meters, so I knew he was ready. I was not going to let him out and rolled something on his first deer."

It was about 9:45 one early morning in December when a doe appeared before the hunters.

"We were about to give up for the morning," Green said. "The doe was real spooky and nervous, so I told James that we should wait and see if the money was following. I thought this would be the slaughter that was around. "

When pointer mature on October 1 was 75 meters, Green has given the green light Reed.

"The ball came and I got my scope on him and told James I know it's at least 13 inches wide and shoot him," Green said. "I do not know how the male was great until I approached him after James had a perfect neck shot - I left it as a potato sack. I went and I knew it was a big trophy. "

Green said his cousin was happy, but was not as excited as Green was.

"I've been hunting a long time and this male was bigger than anything I've ever killed," he said. "He was a novice, but I was the one who was jealous.

"It made me very proud and jealous."
